The Environmental Engineering Laboratory (EnvE Lab) invites you to the ICARUS Launch Event & Scientific Workshop that will occur on 1, 2 & 3 June 2016 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The event will kick off at noon of June 1 and will feature insights and presentations from distinguished experts on climate change mitigation, reduction of carbon footprint and air quality enhancement in 9 European cities, amongst which Thessaloniki and Athens, covering the Mediterranean region as well as Central and Western Europe. In addition, the ICARUS project team will present the methodology to develop integrated tools and strategies for urban impact assessment and policy analyses for climate protection management at a European level.

ICARUS – “Integrated Climate forcing and Air pollution Reduction in Urban Systems” – a 6.5 million Euro flagship research project funded by the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission, will explore pathways and propose tools, strategies and policy measures for climate change mitigation, and air quality enhancement in 9 European cities. The cities are: Athens, Thessaloniki, Milan, Madrid, Ljubljana, Stuttgart, Bristol, Brno and Basel. The project is coordinated by the Environmental Engineering Laboratory (EnvE-LAB), part of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece.
